A cute digi element!

This is probably trivial to some, but I finally figured out how to create my own digi element in PSE 3! Yes, it's not much of anything, but I did create two others too! A crown journal block and a cute swirly arrow. I added this to show you what I did so far, and expect more and maybe even a zip file to download for your own computer to use in your digi layouts! Yes, they will be free!

Wonderful Breakfast!

Last week I meant to post this story, but lost track of time and forgot about it! We had beignets for breakfast one morning and made them from scratch, adapting a recipe I found on the internet. They actually tasted and looked authentic! I was so happy to serve my family the New Orleans treat and they enjoyed me making them for them too! I made about 17 and only 3 were left, which i ate the next day for breakfast!

Amen! A!

One of my dearest friends blogged about her everyday life with her #1 son, N. I too concur with her feelings about being on a schedule and pattern since having two children! Now, most of you who know me, know I am not organized and recently unknown to most of you it has been quite a surrendering and struggle to suck it up and follow one to make my life more manageable! God has been working on me and causing me to realize that I just have to do it, put on my "big girl panties" as one friend put it and do what I've been created to do, take care of my house and love my children, teaching them about God and training them in the "way they should go". This is my first week submitting to my schedule and following my "husbands" rule over my family, helping me to become more like Christ in my walk in this area! Most of the week has been successful, yet today has been the hardest being Saturday, a day I often like being more leisurely with my chores and household activity! God is faithful, and I know He is loving me into more of a submissive style of living. I am prone to be opinionated about how I should live my life and do not like others telling me how to do it! So, it is understatement to say I struggle with the whole submissive thing! LOL! Please pray for me. I covet your prayers. Stand in the gap for me and be faithful to pray that God changes me to better look like His Son, Christ. I need it, we all need it. No one is perfect, no not anyone but God alone! To Him be the glory forever, amen!

Try this recipe! Reminds me of home...

Hammy bean gumbo
(adapted 15 bean soup)
I ham bone, cooked in 2 qts of water with ham seasoning packet
from 15 bean soup bag, until meat falls off the bone
ham meat from the ham bone
1 30oz. bag 15 bean soup, quickly boiled per instructions on the back of bag
4 green onions, chopped
1 15 oz. can of tomato soup
1 Tbsp. chili powder
2 Tbsp. lemon concentrate
1 large clove of garlic
2 Tbsp. salt
2 tsp. ground savory
Following quick boil instructions on the back, it is best to add ham broth, the full 2qts. To the bean broth, before adding the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for another hour or so and serve over rice! Delicious!
